✓ I’m honored to step into the role of Executive Director of the Doula Co-op of Nevada.
✓ As I focus on leading this vital statewide work, I’ve closed my private practice, Doula In Reno, to dedicate my full energy to expanding access to compassionate, professional doula care across Nevada.
✓ Together, we’re growing partnerships, strengthening our doula network, and ensuring every Nevadan has access to the support they deserve.
✓ I’m still available for consultations with Community Partners and potential doulas. If you’re looking for a doula for your pregnancy, please reach out via email, and I’ll be happy to connect you.

Looking for a Doula in Northern Nevada? Here’s What to Look For
Start with reviews! You can check out Google Business Pages as one source for testimonials. Word-of-mouth referrals are also powerful when choosing the right doula.
Nevada now offers state certification through the Nevada Certification Board, especially for doulas serving Medicaid clients. These doulas meet higher training standards and can be reimbursed as Medicaid Providers.
Bonus: Doulas participating in the Doula Access Program (DAP) — a collaboration between DOULA CO-OP of Nevada and Renown Medical Center — receive hospital training and credentials, including volunteer badge access. These doulas serve as “nurse extensions” and are deeply integrated into the birth team.

What It Means To Have A Birth Doula
A birth doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to mothers throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and early postpartum.
The word doula is rooted in ancient Greek and means “woman who serves.” That’s exactly what your doula does — she walks with you, supports you, and serves your family during a transformative time.
Doulas Provide:
✓ Emotional reassurance and encouragement
✓ Physical comfort techniques
✓ Evidence-based information
✓ Guidance on navigating choices
✓ Partner support (we’re there for them too!)
They do not perform medical procedures or clinical assessments — instead, they complement your care team and amplify your voice during birth.
Doulas Are Comfortable In Any Setting:
✓ Hospitals (natural birth, medication-assisted, or cesarean)
✓ Birth centers
✓ Home births
We are supportive about your informed decisions, not your birth setting or birth plan. Our focus is you.
Research Shows Doulas Help To:
✓ Lower the Cesarean rate
✓ Shorten labor
✓ Reduce the use of Pitocin and forceps
✓ Decrease requests for epidurals
✓ Improve satisfaction with the birth experience
✓ Decrease trauma and negative outcomes
✓ Improve breastfeeding initiation
