Welcome to Life According to Jenn

This blog began in 2011 after several women I admired encouraged me to start writing. At the time, I was juggling motherhood, birthwork, foster care, fitness, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with raising a big family. They believed my stories might help someone else. I hoped they were right.

Finding a name was easy once my then 15-year-old daughter, Olivia, said, "Call it Mom's Running It... because you run everything." On October 11, 2011, I nervously clicked Publish on my first post.

A lot has changed since then.

The blog has grown right alongside me.

Today, Life According to Jenn is a collection of essays about the things that shape us: motherhood, birth, grief, resilience, menopause, strength, leadership, foster care, faith, marriage, and the sometimes messy work of becoming who we're meant to be.

I don't write because I have all the answers.

I write because stories have a way of reminding us we're not as alone as we think.
